NC Legislative Alert

North Carolina lawmakers recently passed a bill requiring businesses with 25 or more employees to check the citizenship status of job applicants on a federal database called E-Verify.  Act now to avoid delays or potential compliance violations before the phase-in period expires.

E-Verify compares information from an applicant to Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration data to confirm employment eligibility.

FirstPoint Background Screening Resources has a long track record of conveniently offering the E-Verify service as part of its online 1-9 tool.  We can provide the E-Verify service as a stand-alone report or as part of the I-9 system that includes completing the initial I-9 form, online marrying and storage of completed I-9 with employment documentation, built-in regulatory checks to guarantee compliance, and automated tracking reporting capabilities to protect against any ICE violations.

To inquire about utilizing E-Verify for your organization, contact your Account Executive or call  (877) 4BK-GRND (425-4763).
